The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) (review)

Oh, I finally watched this movie!
“The eternal sunshine of the spotless mind” (2004)
I have known this movie for years but never got interested in watching it. All of a sudden, I chose it to chill with tonight, and it was a quite good experience.

The movie talks about a couple, Joel and Clementine, who was in love once. When things got worse, impulsively, Clementine went to a company to erase her memory of Joel. Joel, who found out about this, felt betrayed and decided to do the same procedure. In the middle of memory erasing, as the good memories rewinded, Joel wanted to call the procedure off. But it's too late. The couple, who have now lost their memory, meet again and strangely feel attracted to each other. After learning the truth about their memory erasing, both Joel and Clementine decided to try again despite the bitterness they had in the past.

To be honest, the story itself is kinda simple, but not the plot, it is fascinating! The main plot of the story revolves around Joel’s memory erasing, especially how he tried to defend his memories. As his memory fades away, we are taken to look closer at his love history with Clementine in a reverse chronology. It starts from how everything has gone wrong, to how they meet. The part when the memory dimension mixes up and collapses in Joel’s mind seems very cool to me.

Well, I don’t have any deep thoughts on this movie. I’m just enjoying it while trying to rearrange the plot in my mind, like solving a puzzle, LOL.

Maybe next time I should watch “Memento”. I heard it has an exceptional plot and plot twist. I love surprises, so why not?
